Basje Boeckx has a vivid imagination. Because of this, she’s sometimes bullied. She steals the book The Neverending Story and hides away in an attic. There, she reads about the adventures of the young hero Atreyu, who must save the realm of Fantásië from the encroaching Nothing. Gradually, the worlds of Fantásië and Basje begin to merge—until she finds herself inside the story. She rescues the Childlike Empress and is granted great power. But can Basje handle that responsibility? And what role does the luckdragon Falkor play in her journey?

This large-scale stage production, inspired by Michael Ende’s The Neverending Story, features seven actors who bring all the fantastical creatures to life. Live music is performed by HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag), violinist Emma Breedveld, and Emine Bostanci on kemençe and Crytan Lyra.
